“It’s the economy, stupid” (foreigners are vital to the UK economy)

I’ve posted a comment before on tikka masala story, which I find an interesting angle in the immigration dispute. Now something a bit more serious.

This is good that Mr. Gordon Brown is aware that we, the Eastern Europeans (EU citizens) can go anywhere in the EU and contribute “very substantially” to business growth elsewhere.

However, “Lords economic affairs committee, which included two former chancellors” should study more the ‘92 Bill Clinton’s campaing phrase “it’s the economy, stupid“. Especially the two former chancellors should reflect on why only under Gordon Brown’s rule as a Chancellor and subsequently Prime Minister, the British economy had such a boost…

Prime-Minister-to-be and alleged Conservatives leader Mr. David Cameron says:

If you want to control immigration you have to control that bit of immigration you are able to control. It’s still possible to control non-EU immigration

and this leads us back to the tikka masala story
